As predicted, today was rainy, very rainy.
As I came out of my accommodation, a string of pilgrims came past .

A few were following me which is not a good idea. A man called out from a bar to tell us we were going the wrong way!

Portugal still seems to be quite religious country.

The route followed that of a Roman road for quite a few kilometres but only a small section hasn’t been covered with bitumen.

Around midday, the rain became quite heavy and I sought shelter in a bus waiting shed to have my bread and cheese lunch. By this stage, my socks were wet and I was getting cold.

There wasn’t long to go though, and I arrived at the hostel at 1pm to find it almost full.

The hospateleiro told me that he has been getting about 8 pilgrims a night recently and occasionally only 1 or even none. Tonight it’s full up with 24.

The weather has cleared for now but more rain is expected for my walk to Porto tomorrow but it’s just 15km away .

Today’s Relive video ….
After beer now it is water water and water !!!!
